Ludhiana,  May 7 – Election campaign of Congress candidate MP Ravneet Singh Bittu got excellent response  in Jagraon Constituency when  the people conversed in large numbers in 14 election meetings held  in  villages and Jagraon city today. The meetings were held at village  Malik, Bar Council Jagraon, Sawadi Khurd, Sherpur Khurd, Shekh Daulat, Fatehgarh Sivian, Galib Ran Singh, Galib Kallan, Galib Khaurd, Amargarh Kaler, Sherpur Kallan and Kothey Sher Jang.

Addressing largerly attended meetings Mr. Bittu said that Modi had made tall promises of 15 lakh in each account, Achhey Din, 2 crore Jobs per year, check on rising prices during the 2014 election and later all these proved to be election ‘Jumlas’  and now he is not even talking about these promises and now only was making false  nationalism an issue by using name of Army,  to which no party had involved in elections in past. Modi government had completely ruined farmers and poor through foolish decisions of  demonetisation, GST etc.

 He added that after elections Congress lead will start depositing  Rs. 72000 per annum under ‘NYAY’ (minimum income guarantee scheme) in the accounts of 25 crores poor people.

He claimed that votes given to Simerjit Bains will be sheer wastage, as no Independent candidate ever won from Ludhiana. He added that Bains was claiming himself honest, but he should disclose from where huge wealth he had amassed and how he built a palatial resident in 11 acres of  costly land.  He said that Both Bains brothers had done nothing for the development in their two constituencies in Ludhiana and the people were forced to live in extreme filthy conditions. Referring to SAD candidate Maheshinder Singh Grewal , he said that he had been deserted by his own party and no senior leader had so far bothered for canvassing in Ludhiana. He said that along with Badals, Mr. Grewal as advisor was responsible for saving the accused of desecration of shri Guru Granth Sahib and killing of sikhs at  Behbal Kallan.  He claimed  that SAD candidate was  nowhere in the campaign and only busy in making frivolous accusations. He claimed that during his past tenure he was adjudged number one among all MPs from Punjab for raising 486 public issues in parliament. He appealed the voters to give him another chance keeping in view his excellent performance in parliament and  in constituency.

Mr. Bittu addressing a  meeting  of lawyers in Bar Room  accused Modi for lowering the dignity of PM post by misusing the deeds of Army to raise the emotions of people  for votes, which had always kept away by all PMs from electioneering in past.

Senior congress leaders Malkiat  Singh Dakha, Amrik Singh Aliwal, Distt. Congress  President Soni Ghalib and Gurdev Singh Lapran claimed that there was a visible wave in favour of Congress and Mr. Billu will definitely get a big lead in Jagraon Constituency.
